ER Client Patient Coordinator

MissionVet Specialty and Emergency is seeking full-time energetic, proactive, and organized Client Patient Service Coordinators (CPC) for the emergency department with excellent communication skills to join its growing team!

The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong desire to provide the highest quality of care to our clients and patients. We are seeking full-time employees to work as the doctor’s right-hand, relaying information to our clients and staff while organizing the daily activities of the doctor. The CPC is also a client advocate, ensuring the client needs and concerns are addressed on all levels.

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) assisting with patient visits, client communications, computer/data entry, and routine technical skills: venipuncture, IV and urinary catheter placement, brief anesthetic monitoring, incision care, drain and bandage management, etc.

Requirements: LVT with experience or individuals with higher education (BS or BA) and veterinary experience. Salary is competitive and directly related to experience.

Veterinary Technician

Client Service Specialist

MissionVet is a rapidly growing emergency and specialty hospital that provides advanced care for San Antonio pets on a referral basis from primary care veterinarians. Our staff of Client Service Specialists provides service for the front desk through greeting and checking in clients, answering phones, checking out clients, organizing medical records, and contributing towards general marketing of the practice.

A high school diploma is required. Ideally, two years of medical, veterinary or dental office client service is recommended, but not required. The successful candidate will be required to answer a multi-line phone system, schedule appointments, operate basic office machines, process payments, reconcile payments, utilize Microsoft Outlook, and organize files. We need individuals that are quick thinkers, thrive in a fast paced environment, and multitask effectively. The position is full-time and may require night or weekend shifts.

Pharmacy & Laboratory Assistant

We are currently seeking pharmacy and laboratory assistants. The positions are for full-time employment and experience with human or veterinary medicine is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has high attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Pharmacy Duties:

  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized pharmacy area and backstock
  • Counts and transfers scripted medications into properly labeled and appropriately sized containers
  • Restocks shelves in front and backstock pharmacy areas
  • Completes monthly outdated non-controlled drug check
  • Completes weekly front and backstock pharmacy inventory
  • Date and label incoming inventory and restock in chronologic order based on expiration date

Laboratory Duties:

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized laboratory area
  • Prepare samples and requisition forms to be submitted to outside diagnostic laboratories
  • Preparing and conducting in house diagnostic tests including automatic analyzers as well as manual blood and urine analysis
  • Keep “hold” patient samples organized
  • Maintenance all in house analyzers based on manufacturer recommendations and maintain records of maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and maintain documentation of any errors or malfunctions of the in-house analyzers
  • Correspond with representatives from analyzer companies for updates, malfunctions, refunds, company driven maintenance, etc.
  • Assist inventory manager in sending in equipment needing repair or maintenance
  • Check for completed tests from all outside laboratories and report results to the requesting doctor/department daily

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in quarterly inventory counts
  • Assist in intaking and putting away inventory deliveries
  • Assists other departments as assigned by supervisor or doctor
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and restocking of the main treatment and surgery areas
  • Assist in other kennel duties such as laundry and dishes

Pack & Prep Team Member

Work hours: Monday-Friday 10 am – 7 pm

Job description:
• Employee focuses on the surgical area of the hospital (pack and prep and surgical suite)
• Maintain operating room and scrub room as a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Decontamination and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
• Creation and sterilization of surgical packs
• Surgical laundry
• Re-sterilize expired equipment/instruments
• Facilitate operating room turn over between surgical procedures
• Assist circulating technician during surgical procedures (locate surgical instruments and equipment)
• Complete end of day operating room checklist (cleaning, turn off O2, Nitrogen, etc)
• Track and maintain minimum surgical inventory and communicate directly with surgery and technician supervisor
• Change soda sorb and F-air canisters per schedule
• Maintain and disinfect endoscopic equipment
• Autoclave maintenance
• Downtime:
o Help maintain hospital as a clean, organized, and safe environment
o Assist veterinary technicians (restraint)
o Assist with diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasound)

Kennel Assistant

MissionVet Specialty & Emergency has full-time positions available for a Kennel Assistant. The appearance and cleanliness of all departments is an integral entity of MissionVet patients’ well-being. We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong desire to provide the highest quality care to our patients. Currently, our specialties include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, medical and surgical neurology, internal medicine, dermatology, oncology, and emergency.

Responsibilities include keeping the hospital including clinical and client areas clean, restocking, laundry, assisting technicians and assistants in caring for patients, and assisting with inventory. Room for advancement available based on performance. Salary is competitive and directly related to experience.
